On a bright summer day in August we're walking down North 14th looking for a good college friend amidst a massive block party. It was the annual NYC Vintage Motorcycle Show and our buddy is hosting it outside his motorcycle shop, Works Engineering. We hadn't seen him in ages and picking his bearded face out from the crowd of facial hair was a challenge, until we hear a shout from above, "hey hey, go through the shop there are stairs in the back". We look up and on the roof there he is, big beard, holding a beer in one hand, waving us up with the other.
We cut through the crowded motorcycle shop, through a small apartment, up a ladder, and onto the roof. A few big hugs and we catch up while looking down at the sea of motorcycles. This is how you spend a proper Sunday.
