6 month ago my girlfriend and I adopted an insanely cute dog from the ASPCA. A big mix of different breeds this small guy is loyal and lazy. When the weather's right we like to go hiking and were worried how the small man’s short legs would handle trails.
The weather switched and we discovered the Palisades Parkway has a network of low key trails up and down the Hudson River. We grabbed kleine and towards them. A little ways down the trail we let him off leash. He realized he was free but had no idea what do. A few minutes later he was right at home in the woods. Bouncing off boulders, swimming through deep puddles, and sprinting between each of us to make sure everything was ok. He would sometimes lead to scout the path, frequently stopping to check on us. We're already talking about longer hikes with the boy to see how he does and soon an overnight camping trip.
