The next morning we text a local we met the night before and offers to show us around KC. She takes us to an amazing ice cream, we relax in the park and end the day sampling the other end of the KC BBQ spectrum.
Arthur Bryant's is a landmark in Kansas City, classic BBQ. The place doesn't looks like anything special which is exactly what you'd expect. Inside you order from a window, behind the glass men slice massive pieces of BBQ. Piling it up with a stack of white bread, a hand full of fries thrown on top, and then wrapped in butcher paper.
We watch in awe at the quantities of BBQ these men are compiling in front of us. Back in the day you could tip for extra, but that's since been banned, I can only guess how ridiculous that became.
We opt for a family style plate to try a little bit of everything. Clara manages to poke into the back to grab a square of butcher paper and roll ourselves the extras to go. Couldn't have planed a better exit to Kansas City.
