Any good campsite has a proper axe on hand. We recently bought ourselves an axe. For awhile we'd been researching axes online. There is a massive range of prices, sizes, and techniques. We opted for a trusty Gransfors Bruk axe. They've been making axes for over 100 years exactly the same way. They've streamlined their entire axe making process to product better axes quicker. Allowing each smith more time with the axe head means less clean up after production and therefore higher quality axe heads faster. As a result you get a beautiful axe with a fantastic looking rough finish.

So far we've taken our axe on two trips. One trip being a 6 mile backpacking trip. Though a little heavy to lug through the woods for a full day of hiking it was awesome that night. Easily separating apart downed trees. After two trips we can already tell this axe is going to age and wear in so nicely. Something we'll have for ages. And with Granfors Bruk's life time warranty we can count on it holding up.
