Our close friends Conor and Hannah had invited us to Maine to spend Thanksgiving with Conor’s parents and spend sometime poking around Maine. We were set to leave Brooklyn super early the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, but a nor’easter closed in on the East coast and road conditions slowly became terrible. Instead we booked it out of NYC first thing Thursday morning. The roads were totally clear letting us cover 350 miles in 7 hours.
“Your right on time the turkey just came out of the oven,” said Conor’s mom as we walk through the door, stomping the snow off our boots. A few hugs, a glass of wine, and we sit down for dinner. The table is surrounded with an eclectic group; teachers, a scientist, a lawyers, a project manager, and a few designers. After dinner we walk around the neighborhood to work off the amazing meal we just had. The night finishes with a long game of Dictionary.
